About Fresh Ice

Fresh Ice is a free browser game where you drive an ice resurfacer and turn chewed-up rinks into glass before puck drop. Made by Always Blue Software.

Fresh Ice is a free casual game about one of the most satisfying jobs in sport: driving the ice resurfacer. Every level gives you a rink that skaters have scratched and scuffed, and a clock counting down to puck drop. Your job is to drive over every patch of grey, rough ice and leave a smooth, shining sheet behind before the players come out.

How it plays

The machine works like the real thing. It only drives forward, it turns on a slow, fixed arc, and it goes dead straight until something stops it. You swipe to choose a direction, swipe back to U-turn into the next row, and tap a spot on the ice to drive straight to it. On a computer, the arrow keys work too.

Finish before the clock runs out for three stars. Long, clean passes build your Glass Streak and earn more Tips, which you spend in The Shed on new machines and power-ups such as the Wide Blade, Time Out and Snow Cannon. Every five levels you move to a new venue, from the home rink at Memorial Arena to a frozen pond, a curling club, a backyard rink, a wild lake, a city canal, a speed oval and a packed stadium, each with its own shape and its own troublemakers. After every tenth level, an optional Intermission bonus round adds a different challenge.

Fresh Ice is made by Always Blue Software LLC, a small independent studio in Georgia, USA. We make short, friendly games you can play in a browser in a spare minute, with no download and no account needed.

Fresh Ice is free to play and supported by ads: an occasional ad between levels, and an optional ad you can choose to watch to double the Tips from a level. There is nothing to buy with real money.

Your progress and privacy

Your progress saves automatically in your browser. If you want to keep it across devices, you can sign in with Google or Apple, or use a transfer code, all optional. The privacy policy explains what data is used and why, and the terms of use cover the rest.
